About Us

Jazzizit Records was set up in 1995 by jazz lover and business man Brian Nott. He was a great fan of Derek Nash and his music and wanted to get involved in the jazz world to help get Derek's music out to the people. In those early years, Brian work tirelessly to build Jazzizit into a succesful British jazz label and, at the same time, Derek Nash's Clowns Pocket Studio started to become a popular place for jazz musicians to record their music. From this, Brian and Derek began to work as a team, not only recording Derek's band Sax Appearl but also recording and supporting other great British talent. As you can see from the catalogue, the music was varied but always of a high standard. One of the artists Brian signed in 2000 was jazz singer Trudy Kerr. Trudy and Brian's friendship grew along with their musical relationship and Trudy began to record her music at Clowns Pocket with Derek in the Producer role. In 2006, Brian made the decision to move on to new business ventures and handed the control of the company over to Trudy and Derek. Since that time, Jazzizit has recorded and produced another eight new albums with another four planned releases in the next twelve months. The company keeps growing but the ethos remains the same. Jazzizit Records continues to bring you the best of British jazz music.
