Iain MacKenzie
Straight from the ‘Cool School’ of Chet Baker, Mel Tormé and Nat Cole comes the stylish, smooth swinging voice of Iain Mackenzie. Iain is an experienced singer, who began his jazz training at Leeds College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music. He has gone on to work with some great bands including NYJO, the BBC Big Band, The Ronnie Scott's Big Band, SW11, Pete Long’s 920 deluxe, Swing City, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra and, of course, his own jazz quintet. He has also worked widely with vocal groups including Voxtet, The New London Jazz Voices, and The Kenny Wheeler Mirror Suite. His voice has featured on a vast amount of publicity, adverts and film soundtracks including The Mummy Returns, Tomb Raider-2 and the recent anti-smoking campaign on ITV & Channel 4. He is Head of Teaching at Vocal Tech, and his album is TWICE ON SUNDAY, which features mainly standards.
